Couple gets married on roller coaster

BUENA PARK, Calif., Aug. 1 (UPI) -- A couple who had their first date at a California amusement park got married on the roller coaster there.

Nicole Crabtree and Nathan Vanderweit said their marriage vows standing beside a Sidewinder car at Knotts Berry Farm, The Orange County Register reported.

"I've been waiting four years for this ride," Vanderweit, a mechanic, said as he strapped himself into a seat.

The Peanuts character Charlie Brown stood in as best man and Snoopy was the ring bearer. Lucy Van Pelt and Sally Brown were the bridesmaids.

Family and friends were joined by camera operators and reporters.

"I think there's definitely an analogy between a marriage and a roller coaster," the new bride said. "There are always ups and downs in a relationship."

The couple exchanged their first married kiss on the top of the roller coaster ride.
