NEW YORK, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- A relative of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev is suing a college admissions coaching firm in New York, claiming it bilked him of $200,000.

Daniyar Nazarbayev alleges IvySuccess, a company based on Long Island, took his money but then informed him after a single session that he was not "Ivy League material," the New York Daily News reports. Nazarbayev won admission to Columbia University in Manhattan, a member of the Ivy League, without IvySuccess' assistance.

"He's a very smart and likable kid who got into Columbia on his own," his attorney, Sam Israel, said.

Nazarbayev received his education in Kazakhstan, a former Soviet republic best known in the United States for its role in "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan."

The suit was filed Monday in Manhattan.
