WASHINGTON, July 25 (UPI) -- Signs have been posted at all White House doors reminding everyone of the fashion requirements to enter and emphatically bans flip-flop sandals.
The signs aren't only posted at visitors' entrances but at staff and media doors, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.
To back it up, staff and media were also sent an e-mail reminding that jeans, sneakers, shorts, miniskirts, T-shirts and tank tops are all forbidden. But the rubber sandals got a short sentence of its own, all in capital letters, saying "No flip-flops," the report said.
"As you know, this administration has a strong record against flip-flops," White House spokeswoman Emily Lawrimore told the Post.
The notices posted say the rules apply "regardless of weather conditions," the Post said.
