AUSTIN, Texas, July 22 (UPI) -- People seeking obscure, yet mostly worthless, treasures were in Austin, Texas, this weekend to take part in the city's annual City-Wide Garage Sale.

The Austin (Texas) American-Statesman said Sunday the two-day event was giving those seeking anything from a 1961 Buick's sales brochure to 3-foot-high troll dolls a chance to garner the unusual items.

Texas resident William Maxwell said he was on hand Saturday at the Palmer Events Center to search for an inflatable version of the state's Capitol building.

"I always wanted one growing up," Maxwell said of his unusual prey. "I've been coming here for years, and I always ask about them. No one has them yet."

The sale has been a mainstay in Austin for 30 years, allowing people additional chances to locate and purchase that "Thunderball" LaserDisc or "Beetlejuice" action figure they may have once missed out on.
