NEW YORK, July 20 (UPI) -- The former son-in-law of John Gotti, the "Dapper Don," is expected to be back in New York soon after almost nine years in federal prison.

Carmine "The Bull" Agnello and Victoria Gotti were divorced in 2002, a year after he was sentenced for racketeering and tax evasion.

Agnello is to be transferred from the federal prison in Allenwood, Pa., to a halfway house in the New York area, The New York Post reported. He will be able to work and to leave the halfway house but will be supervised and subject to a curfew for six months.

Once he completes his sentence, he will be on supervised release for three years.

The investigation into Agnello's metal-shredding business and an auto salvage business he ran with his brother-in-law, John Gotti Jr., helped end his marriage. Wiretaps showed he was having an affair with his secretary.

Victoria Gotti tried her hand at reality TV -- the defunct "Growing Up Gotti" -- and writing novels. Sources told the Post she has "moved on with her life as far as it relates to Carmine" and that Agnello has a girlfriend he met while in prison.
