LONDON, July 19 (UPI) -- Three women in Britain have gone to great lengths to ensure their cats have the best of everything -- even cat passports -- no matter what the cost may be.

With cat care costs ranging from nearly $19,000 to more than $31,000, three British women have shown that price is no object when it comes to having the perfect companion, The Daily Mail said Thursday.

Vanessa Staples of Bishops Stortford has paid nearly $19,000 for her cat Freddy to date, including a Burberry collar and meals containing smoked salmon and tiger prawns.

Next up the scale is London native Ashly Sloan-Brinkley, who has accrued losses of nearly $22,000 while pampering her feline friend, The Daily Mail said. Included among her pet's luxuries is a leather bed equipped with a cashmere blanket and a designer Burberry outfit for special occasions.

Topping the trio is London's Angela Bruce, who has spent more than $31,000 on her two Bengal cats, the newspaper said. Among the extravagances afforded to animals are designer cat baskets and special pet passports to allow them to travel, the newspaper said.
