Police: Man drove body around town

ALLENTOWN, Pa., July 11 (UPI) -- An Allentown, Pa., man has been arrested after allegedly driving a dead man he found in a pickup truck around town and trying to use the man's credit cards.

Dennis James Laslo is accused of driving the decomposing body of Maynard Anthony around town and attempting to use his credit cards before parking the man's truck -- with the body still inside -- at a Kings IGA supermarket, the Allentown (Pa.) Morning Call reported Wednesday.

Laslo was also charged with trying to snatch a woman's purse.

In all, he was charged with theft, attempted theft and abuse of a corpse.

Coroner Scott Grim said Saturday the cause of Anthony's death had not yet been determined, but the death was not considered suspicious.

Laslo was being held in Lehigh County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail.
