MALMO, Sweden, July 10 (UPI) -- Swedish authorities charged a man with fraud for allegedly selling nearly half a pound of chocolate for $1,300 to men who believed it contained cannabis.

The 20-year-old suspect, whose name was not released, allegedly sold the chocolate to two men who later became displeased to discover the product did not contain cannabis, The Local reported Tuesday.

The men have been charged with assault after they allegedly shot the seller in the foot and hit him in the head with an ax.

Prosecutor Christer Ovallius told The Local that pretending to sell the drug may be classified as fraud despite the fact that cannabis is illegal in Sweden.
