BURLESON, Texas, June 23 (UPI) -- A Texas church has begun using a testimonial from Satan in its advertising.

A billboard that reads "I Hate Victory Family Church -- Satan" was strategically placed this week near the intersection of U.S. 287 and U.S. 380, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

Chris Bates, an associate pastor, said more than 1,100 people have visited the Victory Family Church Web site since the sign went up.

"That's huge for a small church like us," he said.

Bates said the billboard is only the first salvo in its campaign. The next one will read "Victory Family Church stole my kids -- Satan."

Some other churches have used similar ads, which represent a twist on church billboards that were popular a few years ago with taglines like "Need directions? God."
