LOVELAND, Ohio, June 17 (UPI) -- The city of Loveland, Ohio, held its second annual Amazing Race this weekend, an event quirkily enhanced by, among other things, games of Pictionary.
Other odd activities for the event included searching for knights in Loveland's historic castle, carrying bricks on top of a board while donning goggles and swimming fins, and balancing an egg on a spoon while wading through mud.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reported the event is the brainchild of Loveland chiropractor Doug Portmann and co-chairs Gary Huber, Martin Schickel and Kathy Ray. The event was modeled after the popular CBS adventure show "The Amazing Race" with challenges not quite as hard as the ones on the show. Organizers kept the quirky challenges secret until the day of the race, the newspaper reported.
"We were looking to do a race, but we didn't expect it to be this amazing," said Cindy Williams of Loveland.
