Lauren Roberts, public information officer with the Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, said English teacher Brett Coogle was reassigned to non-instructional duties May 17, six days after the alleged incident, and resigned from the school system Monday, The (Louisville) Courier-Journal reported Wednesday. Advertisement "Some kids were passing around prom pictures, and a staff member saw a photo that raised some concern and showed it to the principal," Roberts said. "The photo allegedly showed him removing a candy garter with his teeth from a female student during the prom." The Kentucky High School Athletic Association said Coogle, who had been teaching in the school system since 2003, coached the school's volleyball and fast-pitch softball teams.
