ARLINGTON, Texas, June 1 (UPI) -- Police in Arlington, Texas, rescued a 5-foot Burmese python that wandered into rush hour traffic near Interstate 20.
The snake was rescued Thursday afternoon on an eastbound I-20 service road after it coiled beneath a red pickup truck, the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram reported Friday.
The snake was taken to the city's animal shelter by Animal Services employees.
Police Cpl. Dale Horton said the reptiles are usually gentle and not poisonous. He said the snake is likely an escaped pet.
