TANADALEN, Norway, May 28 (UPI) -- A Norwegian man on a fishing trip in the northern region of the country captured video footage of a rare albino moose.
Kurt Are Boine Nikkinen said he saw the animal standing in a field near the road while he was driving in Tanadalen, Aftenposten reported Monday.
"It stood and looked at me," Nikkinen said. "It was completely white and had red eyes."
Nikkinen filmed the animal standing in the field and at one point running along the road before it disappeared into another field.
"It was a great experience to see and film it. It is not the kind of thing you experience more than once in a lifetime," he said.
Nikkinen, a hunter, said he would never shoot a white moose.
"It would make a special trophy but it won't be on my wall. Such a fine animal should be protected," he said.
