Bedbugs swarm college dormitory

May 27, 2007 at 8:36 PM   |   Comments

COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 27 (UPI) -- Exterminators were hired this weekend at an Ohio State University dormitory after bedbugs were found in several dorm rooms.

Ohio News Network said exterminators went through 114 rooms on three floors to deal with the pests. Everything in the rooms had to be packed and moved out.

A student said the bugs had bitten one of his friends, leaving red, bumpy marks.

"The main problem is that this is coming at the end of the quarter when (students) have a lot of other pressures," said OSU spokeswoman Ruth Gerstner. "It is a disruption and we're really sorry about that."
