LONDON, May 17 (UPI) -- Britain's Lord Chancellor has been forced to reveal that he has a list of all judges disciplined for misusing their computers, including looking at porn.

Information Commissioner Richard Thomas made the ruling after Charles Falconer of the Department for Constitutional Affairs refused to release the list, the Times of London reported Thursday.

"It is important for the public to know and be assured that the Lord Chancellor (now the Office for Judicial Complaints) thoroughly investigates each and every allegation of computer misuse by judges," said Thomas.

The department originally admitted to having the information but would not divulge it, claiming that it was protected under the Freedom of Information Act, the newspaper said. Then it completely refused to say whether or not it even had the information.

But the commissioner concluded that it must be announced that the information is held in order to lead to "greater transparency, due to the public's right to know that serious complaints against judges (such as complaints about computer misuse) are thoroughly investigated and appropriately punished," The Times reported.
