CHICAGO, May 16 (UPI) -- Chicago's Olympic committee has dropped Polish and the Olympics' native language, Greek, from planned ads welcoming visitors for the 2016 Games.

There are 11 ads saying "Welcome to Chicago" in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swahili, but committee spokesman Patrick Sandusky said Greek was dropped as there was disagreement over how to say the welcome properly, the Chicago Tribune reported.

While it's not certain Chicago will win hosting rights, the committee is busy preparing for the possibility by preparing the newspaper ads. However, the newspaper questioned why Polish was excluded, considering the city has a very large Polish population.

Asked why Swahili would be included while Polish was out, Sandusky offered only a brief explanation.

"Well, we didn't have room for everybody," he said.
