Police: Drunk 'ninja' impaled self

WHITLEY BAY, England, May 10 (UPI) -- A British woman got the ultimate gift from a loyal employee -- a new kidney.
Alma Caldwell, who heads the non-profit organization, North Tyneside Age Concern, says Angela Dawson is "an angel."
"The magnitude of the gift is overwhelming," Caldwell told The Daily Mail. "For someone who is not even a blood relative to even think about doing this is amazing."
The newspaper talked to Caldwell as she recovered from the surgery at home. Dawson was already back at work.
Caldwell had been on dialysis since she was diagnosed with polycystic kidneys four years ago. Her mother and sister were tested but neither was a close enough match to be able to donate a kidney.
The two women have worked together for 12 years.
