Cop fired over e-mails to 16-year-old girl

REGINA, Saskatchewan, May 10 (UPI) -- A Canadian police officer is appealing his dismissal for sending inappropriate e-mails to a 16-year-old girl he had once arrested.

Former Regina Police Service constable Roberto Armando Siguenza said the e-mails were "just a game," CanWest News Service said Thursday.

The 30-year-old officer was fired from his post after the girl's mother complained about the Internet messages.

At is appeals hearing Wednesday, Siguenza said he was just "fooling around" when he took part in sexually charged online exchanges with another police officer posing online as the teenage girl. He now says the discussions were "stupid."

CanWest said Siguenza denies claims he exposed his buttocks on the Web cam portion of the online chat.
