HOBOKEN, N.J., May 8 (UPI) -- Police in Hoboken, N.J., say they arrested a drunken man who parked his car for a nap in the middle of the street.

Ralph Alvarez failed a field sobriety test and was given a Breathalyzer test that found he had three times the legal amount of alcohol in his bloodstream, the Jersey Journal reported Tuesday.

Alvarez, who scored 0.24 percent on the Breathalyzer, was charged with driving while intoxicated, the police report said.

He was arrested after officers responded to a report of a man sleeping in a car at Fourth and Jackson streets. When police arrived, the man was standing next to his car with the door open and the engine running, and told police he had "a little too much to drink."

Alvarez was released to his wife on $250 bail. His car was impounded.
