U.K. pub fire brings 'Full Monty' response

ST. HELENS, England, May 5 (UPI) -- A response to a pub fire in Britain descended into burlesque when the firefighters were mistaken for a troupe of male strippers.

Eight firemen responded to a small blaze in the real stripper's dressing room and were enthusiastically welcomed by the female audience that was unaware there was actually a fire.

Watch Manager Paul Costello told The Sun that the customers were yelling 'Get 'em off," and "We've got our money's worth."

"They all thought we were part of the show," he said.

One injury was reported at the pub in St. Helens, Merseyside. The fire appeared to have been started by lighter fluid used in the stripper's fire stick act.
