NEW ROCKFORD, N.D., April 26 (UPI) -- High school senior Levi Rue didn't need a limousine to get his date to the prom in New Rockford, N.D., when he had a John Deere tractor to do the job.

Rue said Allissa Bachmeier wasn't wild about the ride when he suggested it Thursday, two days before prom at New Rockford-Sheyenne High School.

"At first she wasn't sure she wanted to," Rue told the Minot (N.D.) Daily News. "She was worried about her dress getting dirty."

Bachmeier agreed after Rue promised that he'd make sure his father's 1992 green John Deere 8760 tractor was immaculate for the dance.

"I cleaned it up pretty good," Rue told the Daily News.

Rue is headed to college, where his prom transportation fits right in with his intended major -- farm management.
