ORLANDO, Fla., March 23 (UPI) -- Police in Orlando, Fla., say a 26-year-old man was arrested for nearly the 70th time in six years after he allegedly tried to run over a deputy on a motorcycle.

Rodney Antonio Griffin had been pulled over in the sheriff's parking lot by the motorcycle deputy, but didn't stay put, Carlos Padilla of the Orange County Sheriff's Office told WKMG-TV.

"The deputy told him to get back in the car and to let him get off the motorcycle. What (Griffin) did was get back in the car, spun it around and came and hit the motorcycle," Padilla told WKMG. "It looks like he came right at the deputy on purpose."

Griffin allegedly fled the scene and was eventually caught and booked into the county jail on several charges. Deputies said he has a violent criminal history and has had his driver's license suspended 25 times.
