CHICAGO, March 2 (UPI) -- Three tenants are suing their Chicago landlord, alleging their apartments are infested with bedbugs.

The plaintiffs, residents of the Presidential Towers complex in the West Loop, say the problem started last fall when they said they were being bitten by insects while they slept, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The lawsuit contends the complex and its management company, The Habitat Co., "failed to prevent or detect the infestation and failed to tell tenants about the problem," the newspaper said.

The tenants said exterminators have been working on the bedbug infestation since January.
