CHICAGO, March 2 (UPI) -- A Chicago mechanic who wanted "Chi-Town" tattooed on his chest is suing a Northwest side tattoo parlor for misspelling it.
It seems that instead of "Chi-Town," Michael Duplessis had a rendering of the John Hancock Center with the word "Chi-Tonw" under it, Crain's Chicago Business reports.
Duplessis, 40, has filed suit in Cook County Circuit Court against Jade Dragon Tattoo Inc. and the tattoo artist, claiming the mistake has caused him "emotional distress from public ridicule" and "loss of self-esteem and psychological pain and suffering."
The complaint also alleges workers at the tattoo parlor "fraudulently induced" Duplessis to sign a form that waived them of any liability for work performed on the tattoo.
The complaint says Duplessis was forced to undergo tattoo remediation procedures as a result of the misspelling.
