HICKSVILLE, N.Y., Feb. 21 (UPI) -- A 22-year-old Hicksville, N.Y., man has been charged with succumbing to road rage and taking a baseball bat to another driver's car.

Nassau Police Sgt. Anthony Repalone told the New York Post the charges stem from an incident Monday when a 33-year-old man was driving through a fast-food restaurant parking lot and was cut off by a man driving a 1999 Audi.

"The victim made an innocuous hand gesture, like, 'What's your problem?' and (the suspect) got out of his car with a baseball bat," Repalone said.

The Audi driver reportedly made threatening gestures at the other driver, then slammed the bat down across the hood of his car, causing about $500 damage, Repalone told the newspaper.

The Audi sped away but deputies later spotted it in another restaurant parking lot.

Naveed Kahn, 22, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and menacing, the Post said.
