RAISINVILLE, Ohio, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- An Ohio woman found that her best friend, a pit bull puppy, had "stolen" her diamond-studded wedding ring.

Tina Burlett said her grandmother solved the crime.

"She was watching a show about animals and she says 'The dog's got it,'" Burlett told WTVG-TV, Toledo.

Burlett took off the ring while she was moving furniture in her Raisinville, Ohio, home and then left the house for a few hours. She reported a theft to police when she came back and found the ring was no longer where she had left it,

After listening to her grandmother, Burlett took Missy, her pit bull, to the vet.

Dr. Linda Fung found an image of the ring in an X-ray of Missy's stomach, then gave her a laxative and a quick run around the parking lot.

Missy, who has a history of eating non-food items, is doing well, Fung said.
