Porno films on Sofia late night bus stops

SOFIA, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- A city-run bus company is showing dirty movies on monitors at bus stops to help commuters in the Bulgarian capital while away the wait after midnight.

During the day, a bus timetable is on the monitors, the Serbian news agency FoNet reported Thursday.

An official at the transportation company in Sofia said the company wanted to entertain passengers as they wait for buses. Erotic movies are being shown only late at night when there is little chance children are on the streets, he said.

Some Sofia residents praised the new service while others said it brings shame on the city.

Some Bulgarians complained security in Sofia has been reduced as police officers prefer to watch pornographic films instead of chasing criminals, the report said.

BRATTLEBORO, Vt., Feb. 8 (UPI) -- A man charged with masturbating naked inside a ski lift has pleaded not guilty to the charges in Brattleboro, Vt.

William Barret, a data processing supervisor in the state comptroller's office, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to felony lewd and lascivious conduct as well as misdemeanor marijuana possession, the Albany (N.Y.) Times-Union reported Thursday.

Barret was arrested Dec. 15 when a man riding a gondola down the hill noticed a naked man standing and masturbating in an enclosed sky car on its way up the hill. The man made a note of the gondola's number and notified the ski patrol when he arrived at the bottom of the hill.

Stratton security and police officers intercepted Barret when he arrived at the bottom of the hill fully dressed and witnesses identified him as the masturbating man.

Police said they found a lighter, a glass pipe and a film canister containing a little more than a gram of marijuana.

Barret is due for a status conference April 23.

Model trains get racy

NUREMBERG, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Model train makers displaying their wares at Germany's International Toy Fair have created more risque scenery in an attempt to appeal to a younger crowd.

The train sets, which include town scenes of police raiding brothels, electronic couples engaged in sex acts, nudist beaches, a bloody accident at a blacksmith's shop and trains carrying nuclear waste, are a vast departure from the neat and ordered train sets of years past, The Times of London reported Thursday.

"We're trying to make people chuckle," said Rolf Fleischmann of the Fleischmann model-train company. "You see so many poker-faced collectors in their 50s and 60s who make their trains operate according to their own tightly worked out timetables, and we just wanted to show, especially young people, that it can be a more relaxed world."

The sets displayed at the Nuremberg trade show also include strippers, a man urinating on a wall, a horse about to be struck with a hammer by a butcher and the German army riding trains to combat missions.

"Not the Third Reich though," Fleischmann said of the army men. "We don't do the Third Reich."
