NEW YORK, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Despite the growing number of women who watch the Super Bowl each year, New York's Madame X nightclub is offering its own Ladies-Only Anti-Super Bowl party.

While nearly one-third of all Super Bowl viewers are female, The Washington Times said locales like Madame X are beginning to cater to those women who seek an escape come Super Sunday.

"This is our own tiny stadium of girly things. It's the estrogen answer to Super Bowl testosterone," club owner Amy McCloskey said. "We'll feature lots of little attractions for women seeking a pleasant night out. No hordes, no yelling."

In addition to offering such traditionally feminine practices as aromatherapy and makeovers, the New York club won't even allow men inside until the big game is over.

The newspaper said similar services are being offered at various other U.S. cities, and the Lifetime Television network will be offering a 12-hour romance movie marathon to counter the popular NFL event.
