AURORA, Ill., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- A 49-year-old man from Aurora, Ill., broke his second world record after peddling on a stationary bike for more than 82 hours.

U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration supervisor George Hood raised his fist in triumph when he tied the Guinness World Record for spin cycling when he reached the 82-hour mark on his 85-hour ride, Illinois's Arlington Heights Daily Herald reported.

He also broke the world record for jumping rope in 1986 by jumping for about 13 hours.

"We have broken the record and we're moving forward," he said, while still pedaling. "We're on top of the world."

By the time Hood finished his stationary trek, he had peddled more than 1,000 miles and burned off more than 25,000 calories, which is equivalent to 7 or 8 pounds.

His effort also raised about $25,000 for the Illinois chapter of COPS, an organization that helps families of fallen officers.

"Knowing that keeps the pain away," he said. "I'm focusing on that satisfaction."
