FARGO, N.D., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- North Dakota State University's Dairy Barn employs real-life maids-a-milking, the Fargo Forum reported Thursday.

The dairy farming program offered by the university employs eight students, all of whom take an active part in the milking of the cows for $9 to $12 an hour.

One milkmaid alone can handle 45 to 50 cows per hour, one of the "maids" told the newspaper.

While it may not be your typical campus job, herd manager Dan Schimek says he's open to the possibility of offering the girls' services as a fundraiser. The fundraising event would be for someone who wants a real-life version of the popular holiday carol "The Twelve Days Of Christmas," perhaps.
