SAPPORO, Japan, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- A popular French-style Japanese bakery opened a new store with a 4-foot-high Eiffel Towel replica made out of bread.
The bread tower, put on display at the new Donq bakery in Sapporo -- best known outside Japan as the host city for the 1972 Winter Olympics -- was crafted by 56-year-old master baker Koichi Ezaki, The Mainichi Shimbun reports.
The freestanding tower is not in one piece, but rather carefully pieced together.
It's also not edible. The bakery covered it in a protective varnish to keep it intact, the newspaper said.
