NEW YORK, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg clowned around at a staff Christmas party by donning a T-shirt, jeans, wig and bandanna and singing "Born to Run" as a spoof.
His honor's Bruce Springsteen impersonation Thursday night was intended to poke a little fun at the speculation he would consider a run for the presidency, The New York Times said Saturday.
The Times said the performance was first reported on the Politicker Web site and was part of a karaoke-themed party at Gracie Mansion.
Bloomberg, who looks like a potential candidate as he travels around the country promoting his ideas on education and illegal gun traffic, is continually being asked about his political aspirations.
His press secretary, Stu Loeser, told the Times the performance was all a joke and was "all in good fun." He added that his boss was not running for president.
