Cross-country drive on 2 gallons of gas

NORTHAM, Australia, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Police in Western Australia say a fight between two families got so large additional officers had to be brought in.
The battle in Northam, a farming town, escalated until it involved about 100 people, Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported.
"My understanding is that a member of one family was assaulted by a member of another family and as a result of that, the other family has come to Northam in mass and attempted to resolve the matter, which has resulted in the disturbance," Senior Sgt. Craig Wonstal said.
Wonstal said investigators were still trying to sort out the details.
Local police got help from the city of Perth.
