Brazil: Woman shot six times speaks out

BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- A Brazilian woman shot six times in the head by her enraged ex-husband spoke to the media, calling her survival a "miracle."

"I have no doubt it was a miracle; otherwise I wouldn't have survived," Patricia Goncalves Pereira, 21, said, Estado news agency reported Sunday.

The half-dozen shots fired by Jose Ferreira Bastos, 48, did not penetrate Pereira's skull.

Authorities said Bastos remains at large.
