NEW YORK, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- The nation's first head of state has lost his head: Someone beheaded a 3-foot stone statue of George Washington in a New York churchyard.
The statue was one of a collection of 19 representing the most significant people of the past 200 years, located around the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the New York Daily News said.
Washington stood between Lincoln and Shakespeare.
