KARACHI, Pakistan, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Britain's Prince Charles and his duchess have been enjoying the hospitality of the remote countryside of Pakistan this week.

A dispatch from the Daily Telegraph Saturday said Charles and Camilla were presented with a 300-pound yak in the village of Altrit, as is the custom in the region; and in keeping with the custom, the animal was immediately given back to the village.

The gift of yak is considered a high honor for VIPs visiting Pakistan, and Charles was effusive in his praise for the black-and-white beast, the Telegraph said.

The locals also presented Camilla with a traditional bridal cap that they reportedly had spent three days making by hand. The Duchess of Cornwall was delighted and declined an aide's offer to carry it for her as they continued the tour.

The visit to the high-altitude Hunza Valley also included a stop at an organic farm, one of Charles' areas of interest.
