Joneses from the United States, Australia and other countries headed to the Welsh capital in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for a gathering of people with the same surname. Advertisement The current record is held by Norbergs, 583 of whom gathered at one time in Sweden. Organizers told News Wales they hope 2,000 Joneses will be guests at a performance in Cardiff where Grace Jones will be among the singers and dancers. "We are hoping to consign the Norbergs to the dustbin of world record history," Dylan Hughes, who organized the gathering, told News Wales. British and U.S. census figures show Jones is the second-most-common British surname and the fourth-most-common U.S. surname.
