The calendar was the idea of mortician Ken McKenzie, who wanted to find a way to raise money for the Long Beach, Calif., breast cancer charity, KAMM Cares, CBS reported.

He said he also wanted to show morticians are "not all Frankensteins," but ended up having some problems along that line, the report said.

Some of those who responded to his ad in a trade magazine simply would not crack a smile while striking a sexy near-nude pose, while others weren't as muscular as hoped.

McKenzie admitted to using PhotoShop software to replace straight faces with smiles and bulk and color to white skinny limbs but justified it by pointing out part of an undertaker's job is to make dead people look good as well.

The menofmortuaries.com Web site charges $15 for the 2007 calendar and has a T-shirt available for $20.
