NEW DELHI, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Airport police in New Delhi arrested a member of an Indian airline's security staff allegedly for stealing gold ornaments from a cargo unit.

The suspect, who worked for the Jet Airways security unit, was arrested Sunday at a bus terminal as he tried to leave the city with the ornaments valued at about $80,000, reports United New of India.

Police arrested the suspect based on a complaint this month from the manager of the airline's cargo operations about the missing gold ornaments. Questioning of the cargo staff led police to monitor the activities of the suspect, the report said.
