Ladies strip to maintain hounds

CIRENCESTER, England, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- A group of upper-crust English women have stripped down to help pay the upkeep of their pack of hounds.

The Oakley Hunt is the latest English institution to use a more-or-less naked charity calendar for fundraising, The Telegraph reported. Like the women of the Rylstone and District Women's Institute celebrated in the movie "Calendar Girls," the hunt ladies used strategically placed props for some concealment.

"The prospect was daunting, but when we started shooting we just took off our clothes and got on with it," she said.

The Oakley Hunt, founded by the fourth Duke of Bedford, is more than two centuries old. While hunting the fox is no longer legal, the hunt still goes out with the hounds in what is known as drag hunting -- giving the hounds a scent to follow.

Asked if the Masters of Foxhounds Association supported the calendar, its director, Alastair Jackson, answered, "Oooh, yes, absolutely."
