ST. PAUL, Minn., Aug. 23 (UPI) -- A St. Paul, Minn., man has been charged with stealing credit cards and buying people's gasoline with them in exchange for cash.

Charles Edward McIntosh, 35 -- who was previously charged with arson, burglary, fraud and fleeing a police officer -- faces three counts of credit-card fraud, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

McIntosh allegedly stole credit cards and used them to buy gasoline for himself and others -- usually telling people he would put the purchase on the card if they paid him the amount in cash.

In one case, he allegedly walked into a business and, without asking for anything in return, offered to fill up two company trucks. The business owner let McIntosh pump $75 into one truck and $43 into another, a complaint alleges.

When police apprehended McIntosh, he had credit cards that had been reported stolen by a nursing student earlier that day, the newspaper says.
