PENANG, Malaysia, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Fifteen international jumpers dove off the top of the Tun Abdul Razak Complex in Penang, Malaysia, Sunday.

The BASE -- Building Antennae Span Earth -- jump included women for the first time, Bernama News Agency reported.

Sunday's plunge was part of a series of jumps organized by the Kuala Lumpur Tower in conjunction with the Merdeka Month celebrations.

Kuala Lumpur Tower chief executive officer Datuk Dzulkifli Mohamed said BASE jumping has been an annual event at the tower for the past six years. Similar events have reportedly been held throughout August.

Altogether, 80 BASE jumpers -- including jumpers from Malaysia, Australia, Norway, Germany and Britain -- took part in this year's events.
