GARY, Ind., Aug. 8 (UPI) -- A man arrested in Gary, Ind., has said he does not know if he committed crimes he's accused of because he was too drunk to remember what he did that night.

Erin Jordan was arrested Sunday after a resident of Concord Commons Apartments accused him of breaking her living room window, the Gary Post-Tribune reported Tuesday. Police said he fled on a bicycle and then struggled with officers when they attempted to handcuff him.

Patrolman Anthony Hawkins said Jordan hit his head inside the squad car, threatened to kill "the white officers," and claimed he was related to Lake County Prosecutor Bernard Carter, who has denied any relation or even acquaintance with the man.

"I was so drunk," Jordan said. "It was a blackout."

Jordan pleaded not guilty to the charges Monday and was given an Oct. 23 trial date and $300 bail.
