TORONTO, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- A nightclub singer in Toronto says she and her psychiatrist have proof that she was Marilyn Monroe in a past life.

The New York Daily News reported Dr. Adrian Finkelstein is so convinced of Marilyn Monroe's reincarnation that he wrote the book "Marilyn Monroe Returns: The Healing of a Soul." In his book, Finkelstein chronicles his treatment of 43-year old Sherrie Lea Laird.

Laird has said that she knew when as a child that she is the reincarnation of film actress Monroe. She also says she has had crushing chest pains all through her life, which she believes are flashbacks to Monroe's 1962 barbiturate overdose, the Daily News said, but the pains stopped with treatment by Finkelstein, which included hypnosis.

Finkelstein has been in practice for 30 years and has taught at UCLA.
