WESTLAKE, Ohio, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- A Cleveland-area waitress saved police time when a customer tried using her stolen driver's license as ID when ordering drinks at a bar.

On July 9, 22-year-old Kathryn Mooney's license and credit card were stolen, and more than $1,000 in charges went through before she was able to cancel the card, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Tuesday.

But justice came full circle for Mooney last week, when two young women ordered drinks at the bar where she was working in Westlake, northwest of Cleveland. When asked for identification, one of the women gave Mooney her own driver's license.

Westlake police Capt. Guy Turner said Mooney quickly dashed to a phone to call police.

"I think it's safe to say (Mooney) was dumbfounded," Turner said.

By the time officers arrived, the woman who had the license had fled, but her companion identified her 23-year-old friend, who was arrested Sunday and will appear in court later this week, the newspaper said.
