Burglar falls asleep on job

BELLEVUE, Wash., July 27 (UPI) -- A brazen but weary car prowler who allegedly broke into some Bellevue, Wash., police cars got caught when he fell asleep in a SWAT team van, officials say.

A city employee reported someone had rifled his car and others at the police maintenance center. A search turned up no suspects until the SWAT crew arrived shortly after 4 a.m. to get the van.

The suspect, described as a 25-year-old transient, was found sleeping in the back, the King County Journal reported. He was jailed for investigation of burglary.
