YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio, July 14 (UPI) -- The coordinator for litter control for the city of Youngstown, Ohio, was in court on Friday on charges of litter on his property.
The Youngstown Vindicator reported the official admitted that his yard needed to be cleaned up.
The Mahoning Sheriff's Department filed a misdemeanor charge against 58-year old George A. Finnerty III.
The department cited pictures that had been taken of Finnerty's home, which reportedly showed cardboard boxes, broken furniture, bricks and various other trash on the property. The department took the pictures after a neighbor complained.
Finnerty, although compliant with the department's request, said the charges were really filed due to a long-standing argument between him and city Municipal Judge Robert Milich, who handles housing court issues.
Finnerty has been the city's litter control coordinator since 1985.
