According to The Washington Post, the editorial board of Silver Chips, the awarding-winning newspaper at Montgomery Blair High School, will not be fired or disciplined for backing Jamin Raskin, an American University law professor seeking the Democratic nomination from Maryland's 20th district.
The incumbent, Sen. Ida G. Ruben, D-Montgomery County, said the paper's staff members failed to give her an opportunity to talk to them. However, students say the state senator did not respond to requests for an interview.
Ruben has asked the paper's adviser for a follow-up interview but students are already on summer vacation.
