FORT WORTH, Texas, June 14 (UPI) -- A Fort Worth, Texas, bank robber used part of his take within minutes to buy new cowboy clothes then rode off into the sunset on a city bus.

Fort Worth police said the tall man wearing a baseball cap and a blue polo shirt walked into the Washington Mutual Bank Tuesday afternoon.

On a deposit slip, he demanded money and said he had a weapon, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

Once out of the bank, witnesses said the thief stopped a few doors down at Leddy's Ranch western wear store, where he shopped and walked out in a western-style shirt and cowboy hat.

He then got onto a city bus, and while police tried to head off all buses in the area, the man had vanished, police Lt. Dean Sullivan said.
