PHILADELPHIA, June 14 (UPI) -- A Philadelphia man police say was very determined to operate newsstands has been arrested for stealing stands with a crane for use in his own locations.

Fatai King, 40, made 42 applications to erect newsstands to the city's Department of Licenses and Inspections in early April, the Philadelphia Daily News reported.

About three weeks later, he evidently became impatient, and rented a crane.

Prosecutors allege King plucked five existing newsstands from their corners and then moved them to corners where he had applied for licenses.

King is charged with theft, unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, and also held on another charge of failing to appear in court, the newspaper said.
